Alessia Gold uses a pseudonym to protect herself from the curious questions of other parents in kindergarten and the shocked looks of hockey parents. Her work is characterised by a particular intensity.

The language of her books, the scenes and the characters are all intense. She writes about complex love relationships, which can also be painful. She takes readers on an emotional rollercoaster ride that both hurts and melts hearts. Although some of the themes may be harsh, there is always a happy ending for those who empathise, grow and live with the characters. This can sometimes be corny, sometimes bittersweet, sometimes predictable and sometimes surprising.

She first appeared on the Spiegel bestseller list in the spring of 2024.
